I think it’s pretty important to support your fellow stitchers and small businesses via Etsy, independent shops, or other websites like that. I am the only knitter I know in the “real world”, so if I want something to wear or accessorize with this winter, I have to make it myself. It’s going to be nice to wear something stitched up by someone else. :)
please, lord, give me strength to be nobody
because i am not my thought
Probably my song for the season. It’s so hard to get lost in the shuffle and try to be everything & everybody at once. You’re guts tell you you NEED that and it takes a slap in the face to realize…you don’t. So. I pray for the strength to be nobody. To be satisfied as nobody. It’s the hardest thing to do.
Welp, I’m knitting another Ganomy and so I am referencing my Almanac. I’m making a few size adjustments and want to make sure I have my numbers correct.
I also started a crochet version and it is a little more difficult to adapt that I thought it would be. I made a fewof them, years ago, but they always had a weird bump and I’m trying to change that and…well, my brain went “argh.” Back to the drawing board. I’ll share my breakthough when/if I reach it.
THAT BOOK, though…well, it’s a constant source of inspiration and encouragement. For less than $8, you gotta get one for yourself.
Well, I took no photos on the 5th, but I posted this one on the 6th, so I suspect I may have been stitching it up the day before? My baby was only 5 months old and he looked like this–
Gloriously rolly and polly. He weighed over 26 pounds. I SWEAR he was exclusively breastfed. He didn’t get any solids until he was 7 months old. I guess my milk was creamy.
Sigh. I should be putting up a photo of a very close girl friend or someone I gush to about teenage vampire novels. Alas, I…am girlfriend-less. Close-girlfriend-less, at least. It’s sad, but I have a hard time making those sorts of connections.
But I do adore this guy. His support is unparalleled. He’s a cool dad and he makes a mean chicken sandwich. He lets the kids climb all over him, lets them take long baths, plays hide and seek, supports my weird obsessions & doesn’t scoff [too much] when my sister and I kick him out so we can watch The Vampire Diaries, and he’s super adorable with a scruffy beard.
