My sister requested a slouchy hat/beret that was lacey. I immediately scoured ravelry and this was the prettiest. I showed it to her and she liked it. The pattern was really simple and memorable. I finished it in about a week, but I took a few breaks here and there.

New Knits on the Block, by Vickie Howell (host of DIY’S ‘Knitty Gritty’). I haven’t knit anything from the book (I got 2, yesterday), but there’s a really cute crown and cape pattern inside.
Just leave a comment. Tell me your current project or just say “Hi!”

That right there is a turned heel with gusset stitches picked up. I finished the heel on Friday and continued on to finish the gusset on Saturday. I hope to have this sock finished by Monday, so I can [MAYBE!] move on to the next. I say maybe because I know what pattern I’m going [...]

..or at least the beginning of one!
2.25mm (US1!) needles make teensy weensy stitches! That’s why I’ll be using my 3mm needles for my green socks. I’m about 90% certain of the pattern I’ll use.

I finished another beret! This time I used a wool-acrylic blend. It’s warm, but machine-washable! huzzah for wool blends!

I increased (over a few rounds) to 120 and knit for about 6.25″ before starting my rapid decreases (12 [...]

Pattern: Quincy, by Jared Flood of brooklyntweed
Yarn: Patons Classic Wool Merino in ‘leaf green’
Needles: US 8 & 9
I used worsted weight yarn, instead of bulky, to get a smaller hat for Andy and/or Nate. I can actually put it on my head as a short cloche, but I think [...]

Before I made the baby wolf-ish hat, I cast-on in bulky yarn (LB’s wool-ease thick & quick). I knew it would be huge, so I set it aside to work on the baby hat. After I finished it and actually liked the finished object, I went back to work on the other. It is HUGE, [...]

I finished knitting this, today. I left my yarn needle in Jason’s car (remember, I attached the bear’s limbs in the car on Sunday?), so I just left the ends hanging. I just HAD to take some photos, though. I used this pattern, but I modified it a bit.
1.) I didn’t use seed stitch for [...]
