With our big move just over the horizon, I’m left thinking of things I may or may not miss about apartment-living. I will NOT miss sharing a room with toys. My feet are tired of stepping on Matchbox cars. My eyes are tired of seeing little plastic cities all over the place. I want a [...] I found two of these at a thrift store. I’m keeping the smaller one and would like to pass along the other (this one). It has 69 spaces for thread spools, minus one missing peg. It’s pretty sturdy (i.e. HEAVY), so keep that in mind if you aren’t in the greater Houston area. It would [...] Yesterday, I made a big dent in sorting/packing/purging. The best part about it isn’t that I’m that much closer to being done. No. It’s that I’ve been able to unearth a few projects that just got lost in the shuffle. One of them was my English paper-piecing project. I originally intended this to be blanket-sized, [...] I should probably stop calling him my baby. He’s the youngest, though, so he might be stuck with the “baby” nickname for all eternity. Or until I’m brave enough to get pregnant again (oh, the VOMIT!). He’s growing up fast! Because I knew he’d hate the long drive and then the long ceremony, I timidly [...] Like I mentioned at the end of last week, my cousin graduated this weekend and my mom and I took a little (~3 hours) road trip from Houston to San Antonio to celebrate. I kissed my boys goodbye early Saturday and we headed out. The ride there was pretty uneventful. We just ran into some [...] One of my favorite people graduates from college, tomorrow. I’m going to dress up for the occasion. I rarely wear dresses. I have only a few I like, so they get saved for special events. I think college graduation warrants getting prettied up. To get myself used to air touching my legs (ha!), I put [...] My baby turns two in two weeks. I thought a diptych would be appropriate. In the second polaroid photo, he was making a ridiculously cute face, but he was TOTALLY anticipating the polaroid popping out, so he wasn’t being very still. I now only have ONE exposure left in my Spectra. I’ll save it for [...] I crocheted and [finally] listed these 3 new bookmarks. You can find them in my shop. I have 3 others that need to be photographed. I really do enjoy making these. Even with those tiny stitches! My favorite part might be choosing the buttons and thread, though. I arrange about 6 bookmarks, place the supplies in [...] When you go into thrift stores, are you a browser or a hunter? I used to be a browser. I would maybe have a list of items I was seeking, sitting in the back of my mind. I’d go up and down aisles, just enjoying the day. Now, though….NOW, I am a hunter. I know [...] Gosh, guys. Spring is so pretty! We spent our Sunday in Grandma Linda’s backyard. I took photos of the boys and of her lovely garden.
