Day 04: A friend I adore

my heart you can collect

Sigh. I should be putting up a photo of a very close girl friend or someone I gush to about teenage vampire novels. Alas, I…am girlfriend-less. Close-girlfriend-less, at least. It’s sad, but I have a hard time making those sorts of connections.

But I do adore this guy. His support is unparalleled. He’s a cool dad and he makes a mean chicken sandwich. He lets the kids climb all over him, lets them take long baths, plays hide and seek, supports my weird obsessions & doesn’t scoff [too much] when my sister and I kick him out so we can watch The Vampire Diaries, and he’s super adorable with a scruffy beard.

Day 03: Something I never leave the house without

5.365: the bag

Aside from the obvious (shoes, clothing, kids) this is pretty much always slung on my shoulder. It’s a vintage (c.1975) American Tourister Escort overnight bag. It functions as my carry-all bag for extra kid clothes, snacks, my wallet, and is big enough for me to bring along my DSLR, my external flash, AND my Instax 210. Since the baby is now potty-trained and pretty much 100% accident free (knock.on.wood), I think I may be on the lookout for a smaller bag, soon. I’ve been swooning over Millie in marigold from Jo Totes for a long while, but just haven’t bit the bullet. I obviously like yellow.

Day 02: 3 Inspirational Quotes

I finally got a chance to watch Tree of Life, this morning. Gah. These quotes are fresh in my mind and I thought they’d be perfect to share. All were said by the mother.

I’m about 80% done with the booklet, you guys. It’s pretty satisfying to look at the print preview in Publisher and see all that info and photos put together and…! It’s just really cool. As soon as it’s done, I’m going to start some previews of the patterns to introduce them. I want the booklet to be available in both print and PDF. If you buy the printed version, you will get the PDF as well, but there’s just SOMETHING about having a booklet in your hand to read and look through. Do you know what I mean? The print edition will probably be a limited thing and I’ll send along some goodies (like postcards and maybe some thread for you to crochet your own doily brooch) with each.

I hope your week started off wonderfully!
