My weekend project was a purple/pink Glory doily blanket. Oh, how I love lace in bright colors! This one is for a baby shower I’m going to, this weekend, but if you’re interested in a doily blanket of your own, see the shop.
My next project is going to be a baby blanket for another baby (a boy due in March, but I want to get it done now). Last year, I made a big red blanket for his brother. I’m thinking chevrons, this time. Golden chevrons! I’ll keep you posted.

LISA! This is seriously GORGEOUS!
Thank you, Maryam!
You crocheted this in a weekend? It’s beautiful!
Yes, thank you!
Wow! ONE weekend? It’s great! I need to learn to crochet ASAP.
Crochet is really fast, but these blankets take about 5-6 hours total work. I watched a lot of Doctor Who, this weekend.
Do you live in a world with a much longer weekend than the rest of us!! :) it’s beautiful!
Ha! I don’t think so. I just stay up waaay too late watching TV with my husband. If I were able to sit uninterrupted and crochet this, it would take about 6 hours!
is that how you block your blankets?
No! I actually don’t block the ones made from acrylic. I just don’t have a space wide enough for it, so I taped it to the wall. :)
Oooh – love the color you made this in! :) I used your lovely patterns to make my friends baby a ‘Willow’ doily blanket (I think that’s the one…), I made it out of chunky pink yarn and it was to-die-for! Yay, crocheting!
LISA! That is beautiful! You are pregnant again!? How exciting! Me too! I am due in a couple weeks. Actually, I was just thinking about you because I used your Big Red pattern to make a Big Blue for my new little nugget. It turned out wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing.
Love, Brooke
Nooo! NOT me! This was for a friend and the next blanket will be for my cousin who’s due in March.
I was really contemplating making another using the same stitch, but I thought I’d mix it up and use some chevrons, this time.
Ahhh! That is how rumors start. One pregnant brain gets things all mixed up and then everyone thinks you’re pregnant! Sorry!
I love the chevron idea.
