Saturday Park Adventures

After a little bit of thrifting on Saturday morning, I spent most of my afternoon thinking of ways to use my thread, helping Andrew go down for a nap, then crafting a bit. The older boys headed to the park to play frisbee, while Andy napped and I crocheted with a tiny hook (this one). They came home to use the phone (more on that at another time) and Andy awoke, so we all headed back to the park.

It was pleasantly warm, with the sun still quite high in the sky. The older ones resumed their frisbee-throwin’ and I hung around Andrew, snapping tons of photos and helping him on to various swings and slides. He wore some boots my sister gave him for Christmas. We’ve learned they’re great for keeping out the tiny rocks at the playground. However, they have terrible traction, so he was walking slooow.

These are two of my favorite photos from the time we were there:

I love tunnels! You can see more colorful photos, including one of Andy’s boots which say “Andy” on the bottom (they’re supposed to be Woody’s, from Toy Story), on my flickr stream.

We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled crafty programming tomorrow! Happy Sunday!

A little Easter mess

I mean video!

This is what happens when you let big brother hold the Easter baskets.

soft hair, hard eyes
same goes with this one.

I’m still trucking along with my crochet and knit. I think I’m going to stop, this weekend. Nate will be at Grandma’s from Friday night through Sunday (Easter egg hunt at her church on Saturday morning–he’s super excited), so I should have some time to photograph products. I’m brainstorming the photos in my head and am anxious to get started! I suppose I could still crochet away once products are listed. I know I’m not going to sell-out right off the bat, so I can rest assured that my shop will always be adequately stocked. If nothing sells, these things will make good gifts throughout the year, right? Right!

I like this angle…

It’s “Focusing on Angles” week at I ♥ faces! It was chilly out, so I was finally able to get photos of Nate in his cowboy boots and corduroy blazer ($1 at a thrift store)! He absolutely LOVES his boots. They’re his first pair. He got them on Christmas and has worn them at least twice a week since then. He gets many comments from grandmas when we’re out and about. They think the get up makes him look handsome. As his mother, I’m going to have to humbly agree. Even with his hair flying in the breeze.

IHeartFaces, week 4: texture

I love using textures, so this was a tough decision! I chose this photo because I think Nathan is making an incredibly awesome face in it. He really has a flair for drama!
