365.278: celestine pickup

this project (‘celestine’ by Berroco) had been sleeping in a bag for over a year. I only got through 4.5 points (of 12) before I put it down. I’m finishing up the 5th and plan to do at least 1 a day until I finish. Hopefully, by next Wednesday I’ll have a finished toy. We’ll see.

by the way, 3mm needles + worsted weight yarn = hand cramps. maybe that’s why i put it away?! I need my needles for socks, so I MUST finish. It’s too pretty to frog.

newborn head model!

365.265: tiny wolf

So, the Fisher Price Happy Apple is pretty much the size of a newborn head. Andy had a 14″ head (9lbs, 4 oz) and that is the exact circumference of the toy at its largest.

This was a test knit for my adjustments to the bonnet with ears. I had to adjust the pattern and needles for this. I think I got it right, but I’ll probably increase the stitch count very slightly next time.

brown bear built

365.259: brown bear

Pattern: Bedfellows by Camilla Engman, in The Happy hooker
Yarns: Ella Rae Classoc, Ístex Álafoss Lopi (brown variegated)
Hooks: 5.0mm (H) and 6.5mm (K)
Mods: head- my stitch number went like this:
3, 6, 12, 24, 30, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, then i switched yarns and did one even row, then i switched hooks and started the decrease part of the pattern (for the bunny head). I wanted it to have a flatter face and for the contrasting yarn (brown) to show up more from the front. limbs- I switched yarns right after increasing to 21 and crocheted 2 even rows, then i switched hooks and started the decreases.
