Day 4 (309/365): Upon waking, this guy is usually a grump and a half. Today, though, he was happy! Maybe it was the wicked bedhead? I refuse to cut his hair, guys! It’s just so lovely. Even when it’s messed up “like a cow chewed his head.”

Did you know it was ‘Roid Week on Flickr? It started on the 2nd, Monday, and runs through Friday. The weird thing is I DIDN’T KNOW, but I pulled out my Spectra on Halloween and have been snapping photos with it since then. I’m on my last pack and what a way for it to go out, no? It was like Polaroider-intuition that I rekindle my Spectra love affair on ‘Roid Week 2k9. Here’s what I’ve submitted thus far. All of these were taken with expired (10/07–2 years ago!) IMAGE film: ![]() Day 1 (also 306/365): I have 2 sets of filters. I started experimenting with the F111 filter. It covers half the lens & viewfinder for neat double exposures! I actually had no idea what it was for and hadn’t used it. I want to do a “yarn head” photo. I just need someone to take [half of] it for me. ![]() Day 2 (307/365): Just a photo of the sun coming through the blinds. ![]() Day 3 (308/365): This is my favorite, so far. It was a triumph. I got the baby down for a nap after days of boycotting (hello, little one, 10 minutes while you’re nursing is NOT a nap!), which led to crazy meltdowns. By who? You’ll never know. Not even the shutter and subsequent spitting of a Polaroid woke him! He was tired. I very nearly fell asleep with him. Stay tuned, the next couple of days, for more! Check out my Polaroid Set for my older ones. I have a ton on my computer I haven’t uploaded. Maybe I’ll get to that later. ![]() ![]() Did you know this is the first Halloween on a Saturday since 1998? We took advantage. The boys spent a good chunk of the day outside. The weather was amazing and they toddled around barefoot. Andrew really likes bikes, now, so he had a wonderful time. After dinner the boys got into their costumes (for the second time!) and we headed out down the block–Nate walking and Andrew in the wagon, steered by me! ![]() ![]() see what I mean about bikes?
I didn’t take any photos of our trek, but Nathan received a few compliments on his costume. He was very brave at scary houses and was [~75%] polite about saying “Thank you” when he received a treat. They spent the next few hours giving out & eating candy, having cake & ice cream (Halloween is Daddy’s birthday!), and bouncing around Grandma’s house. Andrew was asleep before we even left the neighborhood and Nathan dozed off soon after. We got home and they didn’t even wake up! Daddy is now out and my sugar crash is approaching. Sleep sounds delicious. And we get an extra hour, tonight! I hope my kids’ biological clocks got the message. ![]() Andrew’s a sweet little guy with a new-found disposition to erupt when things don’t go his way. That’s right, my little 17 month old has discovered the tantrum. He thrashes his little legs into oblivion when I pick him up out of the bathroom or kitchen, both places he’s not allowed. He yells his little heart to pieces when I take away something he’s not supposed to have. It’s sad, yes, but such is life and I think a few boundaries are a-okay. He’s really cute, though. Especially when he hugs things. Or when he pretends he’s talking on the phone. Orrrr when he sings in the car then gets oh-so-bashful when I look back at him.
it’s actually the 301st day of 2009. |
