Crochet pattern & giveaway!

tessa1

First: The pattern I’ve been promising for weeks has finally gone live! You can find it on the patterns page or by clicking here. Let me know if you make it! It’s a simple concept (half circle with a scallop edge), but I fear my directions may not be concise enough? I wanted a more formal pattern than my Mary Jane tutorial.

ANYWAY. To celebrate me finally getting on the ball and publishing it, I thought I should have a little celebratory giveaway. To enter, leave a comment letting me know what you think about the pattern (just take a look at it) or what you think about the new blog design (header-less! wider! etc!). Tweet about the pattern/giveaway, making sure to mention @goodknits, for an extra entry (leave a separate comment).

giveaway

The prize: any of the crocheted aprons I made while whipping up this pattern! I made 4 different ones, though you can see I kind of stuck to the same color group. Womp womp womp.

I will choose a [random] winner on Friday, July 8 at 9pm CST!

I appreciate all the feedback. Good luck!

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!

  • I have been looking for a pattern for an apron!! Love the way it looks!

  • The new layout looks great! I’m diggin’ the headerless vibe, it separates your blog from the others, I think. My only constructive criticism is the that box that has your links (Etsy, About, etc.), the yo-yo background makes the words a little hard to read, but I’m torn because the yo-yo image is soooooooo cool. Looks great Lisa!

  • Checked out the pattern and tweeted the giveaway! Pattern looks awesome. I’m going to have to learn the crab stitch before I attempt it though!

  • Hello. Firstly I would like to say that I absolutely LURVE the photoshop action you made, I downloaded, my computer crashed and I made sure to come back and grab it again (because I sux at backing up anything). Anywhooo that is not the reason I am here today. I would absolutely love to have the pattern to your apron because number 1. I LOVE it 2. I quit smoking recently (yay me) and crocheting actually helps to keep my hands and brain busy so I don’t have to think about the ‘s’ word. & 3. I would love to make this and then use it as a prop in a upcoming 60’s inspired photoshoot. :]

    Love your blog btw…and pictures…and patterns….and banter. :]

So cute. And how have I never heard of the herringbone half double? I haven’t been crocheting for long but I have a lot of books and I have never seen this stitch. I LOVE herringbone patterns so I will have to try that.

  • I have always loved your blog! I like the new wider format! What a cute pattern!! Can’t wait to try it out!! Thanks for sharing it with us!!

Very sweet looking apron! And the new blog layout is very unique. :-)

  • I suck at crocheting, so I can’t say much for the pattern. But I love the new blog design! It’s wonderfully simple and beautiful. <3

  • It’s a very pretty yet simple pattern.
I think that anyone and everyone would be able to make their own at home.
The only thing I would add would be pockets.
    Other than that, AWESOME work!

  • Cute, cute, cute. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • I just made an apron from granny squares yesterday, I’ll have to try your design next. Also, I like the new design of the blog but your old header was so pretty that I kind of miss it. It’s difficult to read your tabs that are on the yo you blanket (patters, good folk, etc) because the font is hard to see, color wise.

  • how fun! that is such a cute little apron, and i love your new layout. i would agree that its a little hard to read the tabs, but i LOVE the idea that they’re vertical. i also love your button design, too cute :]

  • They are so adorable! I’ll have to make some now! Lovely colour combination. I like the new blog design but I also miss the colourful yet simple header. I did like that alot. :) Sai

  • Yeah! The aprons are just too cute! You can’t go wrong with bigger pictures on the blog design. I love it!

  • ooh! I’m excited about this pattern! My sister is moving to a new place in August, I’m going to definitely make her one!

  • Looks like your pattern is written pretty well. It’s very easy to understand. And what a cute apron! Definitely going to have to add this to my queue ;)

  • I do very much want to win one of these. If I actually knew how to tweet I would! They are gorgeous! I’d buy your pattern and knit one it’s just… I am challenged in the SKILLZ department. The last scarf I made got unraveled and I cried. Either way, these are super sweet and I super hope I can give one a loving home!

  • Very nicely done aprons!!

  • I love the new blog design! Very cute. And I especially love the adorable pattern. Must have!

Love, love, love the new look lady. Your patterns are pretty sweet, too. Keep up the awesome work. Seriously. Love. It.

  • So glad you published this pattern! I saw a picture of this apron a few weeks ago and searched and searched for the pattern, couldn’t find it because it was still in the works! I’m going to make it as soon as I’m done the blanket I’m working on!
Just found this blog today and I’m glad I did!
