it’s missing its buttons, but Nathan was being cooperative, so I took some photos anyhow.

pattern: Seamless Hybrid from E. Zimmermann’s Knitting Without Tears
size: i measured nate’s chest, arms, and torso length, then added a few inches for growth. I had 110 sts for the body and 36 sts for each arm.
gauge: 5 sts/in
yarn: Cascade 220 in silver grey over-dyed with many many packs of tamarindo kool-aid (2 skeins with just a smidge leftover) for the body/sleeves and azure for the button bands and hems (less than one skein). I probably have enough to make a fair isle-ish hat. oh the possibilities!
needles: US 8 (5mm)
cool things i learned: steeks! StSt hems! one-row buttonholes! raglan-saddle hybrid sweater decreases that RULE.
i used steeks to turn it into a cardigan and added hems to the body and sleeves. the sleeves are obviously a tad long, but the hem makes a perfect turn upward.
i dig it.

i was informed, on saturday, that my cousin’s baby shower will be THIS WEEKEND! total craft chaos ensued, today. i made a sweater! i finished a [little] blanket! i nearly killed myself (or rather, i slipped on my messy floor) trying to get a good photo. i did not succeed. but i want to show you guys, because i’m really excited.
i started and finished a little star blanket because i have a HUGE crochet blanket in progress for the new bub. it’s about half way done, but i wanted to make a different blankie, just in case i don’t finish the other.
yeah, it’s on my wall! heeey, sticky tack!

aside from the beer i knit before christmas, I do believe this is my first knit toy! i used ysolda’s stuffies pattern, wool-ease chunky, and 5mm needles to get him.

this time with initials! he somehow lost his other one already, but i’ve received unconfirmed reports it’s behind the downstairs television. i asked him if he wants another and he said “a pink one!” haha i think it might be because i had some pink thread (yes, it’s embroidery cotton my needle is 1.75mm) in sight. i’ll probably make it entirely pink.
