Saturday Park Adventures

After a little bit of thrifting on Saturday morning, I spent most of my afternoon thinking of ways to use my thread, helping Andrew go down for a nap, then crafting a bit. The older boys headed to the park to play frisbee, while Andy napped and I crocheted with a tiny hook (this one). They came home to use the phone (more on that at another time) and Andy awoke, so we all headed back to the park.

It was pleasantly warm, with the sun still quite high in the sky. The older ones resumed their frisbee-throwin’ and I hung around Andrew, snapping tons of photos and helping him on to various swings and slides. He wore some boots my sister gave him for Christmas. We’ve learned they’re great for keeping out the tiny rocks at the playground. However, they have terrible traction, so he was walking slooow.

These are two of my favorite photos from the time we were there:

I love tunnels! You can see more colorful photos, including one of Andy’s boots which say “Andy” on the bottom (they’re supposed to be Woody’s, from Toy Story), on my flickr stream.

We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled crafty programming tomorrow! Happy Sunday!

Forever Cheese

While I was taking photos of the ready-made cupcakes, I caught a glimpse of something in my peripheral vision; it was Andrew. Cheesing it up big time. If you saw the video I posted a few days ago, Chocolate Easter, you will be able to see some more of his cheesiness. Whenever he sees a camera, he immediately believes he should scrunch up his entire face and bare his teeth at us. It’s pretty adorable.

cheeeeeeeeese

I hope he does this for school pictures.

A little Easter mess

I mean video!

This is what happens when you let big brother hold the Easter baskets.

Fabulous!

The little one has an ear infection. It’s slight, but we suspect that’s what’s been causing his fevers since Saturday.

We picked up his medication on the way home and a few minutes after I administered it, half of which he spit out, he puked big time. GAH. That’s wonderful, isn’t it? He hasn’t had a fever since about 11, this morning, so I’m hoping we’re on the tail-end of the sickies. I pray his temperature doesn’t rise again and that he finally sleeps well. I will try to give him some more of the medicine tomorrow.

Hope for clean clothing and sheets throughout the evening!

2.5: blah

it’s just one of those days.

Absence

Forgive me for my absence. The littlest one has had a fever for the better part of 4 days and I feel like I’m nursing allthetime. The good part is that I’m over halfway through Water For Elephants, which I started reading on Sunday. The bad thing is….well, my baby is sick and I’m nursing all day.

Poor babe! I don’t know what’s wrong with him and that’s the most frustrating part. He doesn’t have a consistent cough (as in, he only coughs a few times a day), nor has he been tugging on his ear or displaying any sort of signs of an ear infection. SO. I’m all out of ideas to make him feel better. I’ve been administering a regimen of fever-reducers, but I’d like that to subside, so he has an appointment with his pediatrician this afternoon. I hate that he’s sick, but I hope it’s something they CAN diagnose and treat right away.

I’m tired of him feeling so blah. He had his happy moments over the holiday, but it primarily consisted of whines and whimpers in my, daddy’s, or a grandma’s arms. Not cool!

When he’s back on the road to good health, I’ll be back on the road to more consistent blogging and shop-updating.
