The first Elizabeth Zimmermann pattern I ever made was ‘Ganomy’ from Knitters’ Almanac. It’s also been the most used pattern in my repetoire. My copy of KA is in bad shape. It lived in the bottom of my bag for a while. I haven’t knit everything she gives pithy directions for, but I HAVE read [...] My needles are currently bare. I received a request for a baby blanket (I would be paid) and have yet to decide to do it or not! It’s needed by the 23rd and would take me 3-5 days to complete. I’m leaning toward YES because I could use some extra cash and…well, I’m kinda tired [...] I started gift #9 on Tuesday, but put it down on Wednesday (yesterday) to start a woolly hat for my four year old. His woollies have been passed down to his brother, so his ears are quite cold when we’re out. And that is just not acceptable. I chose one of my all-time favorite hat patterns, [...] And it’s finally cold here in Houston! Hu-freakin’-zzah! I was getting kinda worried for a bit. Thought we’d have to dress the boys in shorts and sleeveless shirts for Christmas. That would definitely put a damper on any cute photos. Not like I’m super obsessed with holiday photos anyway. My camera slept in my diaper [...] On Sunday, I added two gifts to my pile. They were easy peasy, as most comments on my pattern can attest to. Since then, I’ve added two more. As of today, I have 7 gifts complete. I started #8 this morning. I lowered my list by 1, but I think I’m going to re-knit #3, so [...] I actually finished this a couple of days ago. Since then, I’ve completed 2.5 others! That’s right. I’m on my way to having 6 complete gifts. That would leave me one gift shy of 50% of my goal. And there’s 30 days left! I chose the Slouched Tuva pattern for this. I cast-on less stitches [...] Where’s gift #1, you ask? Well, that would be the pair of granny square slippers I made a few weeks ago. My spreadsheet was off by 1 because I forgot I made those as a gift. This morning, I completed a toddler beret I started yesterday evening and updated the spreadsheet. I now have 2.9 [...] 100% wool, ready to toast your head. The absolutely electric color (”lemongrass”) is sure to add spunk to any dreary fall day. new EtsyNameSpace.Mini(17100, ’shop’,'thumbnail’,2,4).renderIframe(); My sister requested a slouchy hat/beret that was lacey. I immediately scoured ravelry and this was the prettiest. I showed it to her and she liked it. The pattern was really simple and memorable.
