have you checked this word “rube” in the dictionary?
probably not a great name for your pattern. o_O
Well, dang. NOW, I am aware of the slang term. They were named after a person, ‘Rube’ short for Reuben.
Wait a second here…why the negative twist on “rube?” There’s not a thing wrong with being an awkward, unsophisticated person from the country. The only people who might think that are self-center city folk. Those of us who were RAISED in the country don’t think we’re all that bad. ;)
thank you lisa, i was raised up in the country and proud of it……. nothing wrong with the country. maybe the city folk should give it a try once in a while. bye ya’ll
They are beautiful please can I have the pattern!!
Hi! The link is above– http://www.ravelry.com/dls/lisa-gutierrez-designs/156823?filename=rube.pdf
Thank you so much for the pattern! I love the name of the pattern! Looked it up from the other comment and it says Hick, Redneck…that works for me…from the south and very proud to be a Redneck!! I think I’ll have to make some for all my Redneck friends!! Hahaha!! :)
Thanks for this pattern – I really enjoyed making these.
Hey:( I was raised in the country!!!!
hey, ya’all, Reuben was my Daddy’s name. He hailed from Alabama. He was a gentleman, not a hick! Good ol’ Biblical Tribe!
First off, I want to say THANK YOU for the Pattern, I love it and I appreciate any gift that someone offers. Second, I don’t see anything wrong with a name. It’s a nickname no big deal and lastly, I’m from the City and we don’t all feel like the attacks and assumptions that are being made here. You don’t like to be attacked please give the same respect to everyone. We all deserve that no matter who we are or where we come from because we are all beautiful and unique.
Right? I’m a country girl through and through. My father’s literally a redneck, and in Molalla, where I hail from, bull riding is our town’s most popular “sport”. Rube, to me, isn’t even an insult, just a fairly accurate depiction.
Thanks for the pattern, it was fun to make.
These gloves can be very useful for me. I will make these gloves for myself and my daughter, thank you.
The gloves are really cute and colorful. I need to learn how to make these gloves right now.
It’s so adorable that I may decide to make a pair for myself.
It’s great to hear that you find the gloves cute and colorful! Fashionable and vibrant accessories like gloves can add a playful touch to your outfit and help you express your personal style.
