A Sunday smile and we felt true.

I took this last weekend when we hung out at Grandma’s house. She brought out the bubbles and the kids played while I snapped away. Bubbles = fun, so there were a lot of smiles amidst the suds. That one up there just happens to be one of my favorites.

The theme at I Heart Faces, this week, is SMILES. Check out the entries and maybe contribute one of your own!

My best face photo of 2010

best face photo 2010

This was much tougher than I thought it would be! I had quite a few tabs open with my favorite face photos of the year. I almost chose one of the photos from New Year’s Eve, but decided against it. I chose this one because it’s just so Andrew–the prop, the stoic expression, the cheeks. He’s a giggler, but when I point my lens at him, he tends to go blank. I think it’s his age. Nathan went through a phase of just not liking me taking his photo all the time, but he’s outgrown it, thankfully.

Check out the I heart faces “Best Face Photo of 2010” post. Entries close tomorrow morning and then you get to vote for your favorite!

I Heart Faces Week 37: Vroom, vroom!

The photo challenge at I ♥ Faces is “Vroom, vroom!” Photos should have a vehicle and a face in it. This is by far my favorite photo with a vehicle in it. Sure, it’s a non-motorized, plastic vehicle, but it’s a vehicle, nonetheless. Plus, it features one of my most favorite faces–

riding!

Check out I heart faces for more entries to this challenge! They’re pretty awesome.

I Heart Faces Week 16: Collages!

nate o'matic collage

The challenge this week at I ♥ Faces is collages. Who better a collage subject than a four-year old boy? Ohhh the faces he makes! I could fill an album to the brim with photos of his face. He has so many. They range from the handsome to the strange. And I love them all. He makes my folders interesting.

Did I tell you how my hard drive died and I hadn’t backed up in MONTHS? No? Well, it did. And I no longer have the originals or even the high-definition versions of these photos. And that makes me sad. Thank goodness for Flickr! I don’t have the original, but I do have a decent size. Decent enough for prints and for me to mush up into collages. Maybe my [future] photo album for the last half of 2009 and first quarter of 2010 will just be a bunch of collage pages. Yeah, I hadn’t backed up in NINE months. It was the epitome of photographer irresponsibility.

Why don’t you go and back up your photos, right now? It would be the best thing for all of us to do. Mass backups!

Also, go check out the other A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. collages at I ♥ Faces, this week!

I ♥ Faces: Dramatic black & white

365.323: watching, waiting.

It’s no secret Andrew likes to bring the drama to his mama. I have various photos on my flickr account of him yelling and/or crying at me. They’re usually the result of not enough nap time. He is not the best person to be around when he wakes up from a nap. Twice this weekend, when we were headed out right after a nap, he cried the entire car ride to our destination. THE ENTIRE RIDE! What baby doesn’t just fall back to sleep in the car? Mine, apparently. We even stopped so I could nurse him and he went right back to crying afterward. Crazy! Now, I’m going to do the obvious and just schedule naps far before outings.

THAT said, this week’s theme at
