 New Knits on the Block, by Vickie Howell (host of DIY’S ‘Knitty Gritty’). I haven’t knit anything from the book (I got 2, yesterday), but there’s a really cute crown and cape pattern inside. Just leave a comment. Tell me your current project or just say “Hi!” 1 entry per person, please. If only one person enters, you get it! :D ETA: I’ll close this on Thursday evening (7PM CST).  That right there is a turned heel with gusset stitches picked up. I finished the heel on Friday and continued on to finish the gusset on Saturday. I hope to have this sock finished by Monday, so I can [MAYBE!] move on to the next. I say maybe because I know what pattern I’m going to use my malabrigo for and I’m just itching to start those! ah, second-sock syndrome, how I loathe thee. 
..or at least the beginning of one! 2.25mm (US1!) needles make teensy weensy stitches! That’s why I’ll be using my 3mm needles for my green socks. I’m about 90% certain of the pattern I’ll use.  I finished another beret! This time I used a wool-acrylic blend. I WAS going to make Le Slouch by knit and tonic, but I decided to change things up. I’ve made a beret before, afterall! see? I started with 72 stitches and a twisted rib.
